Fortnite Battle Royale has received one of the biggest updates ever. Epic Games released the v6.20 patch on October 24, and the patch brought the Fortnitemares event. Besides the event, the game developer has released some big gameplay changes and improvements to the popular video game.
The update was released this morning and data miners have been very busy since them. They have found some interesting information in the game data, including upcoming cosmetic items. Additionally, it appears that Epic Games is working on releasing another trap. The new Fortnite trap has been found by @FNBRLeaks data miner on Twitter.
The new Fortnite trap
The Twitter data miner has discovered the presence of an Oil Trap in the Fortnite Battle Royale game files. At the moment, there are no details on how this trap would look like or what exactly it would do. However, our guess is that it would be a trap that deals damage over time.
One thing we do know about the new Fortnite trap is that players will be able to place it on the floor. Considering that there is no oil trap in Fortnite: Save the World, we can expect Epic Games to add something completely unique to the game.

The Fortnite developer might make even more trap changes soon. The latest patch has brought the glider re-deployment test. If the developer decides to keep this feature in the game after a week, we can expect Launch Pad to be removed in the next patch.
Epic Games will most likely keep releasing Halloween-themed content during the Fortnitemares event. This is why there is a chance that the upcoming trap might stay in the game only until the event ends. The Fortnitemares ends in late November, which means there is a lot of time for the game developer to add more Halloween content.
