Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 6 officially begins tomorrow, on the 29th of September, and with it players of both Modern Warfare and Warzone can look forward to a range of new game modes. One major new Warzone mode is coming at launch, with a selection of multiplayer modes set to follow over the course of the season.
Modern Warfare Season 6 Game Modes
The first of the new Modern Warfare Season 6 game modes to launch will be a Warzone variant mode called Armored Royale. This mode, which will be available from tomorrow, should give players a dramatically different experience in Verdansk. The mode gives every squad their own heavily-armored Cargo Truck, each outfitted with a machine gun turret. So long as their truck remains operational, squad members can respawn. As such, players will need to focus on destroying enemy trucks.
As for Modern Warfare, Season 6 is bringing a host of new or returning game modes. However, these won’t all be available to play at launch. Killstreak Confirmed will be available from tomorrow though. This variant of Kill Confirmed allows players to earn Killstreaks by collecting enemy dog tags. Notably, your streak also won’t reset if you die, allowing you to keep progressing towards your next Killstreak. In fact, it will even be possible to earn the same Killstreak multiple times in a single life.
Week 2 of Season 6 will see the addition of Hardpoint: Hills and Kills. This mode which awards teams points for both scoring kills and holding the objective. Week 3 will feature HQ Firefight and Gun Game Team Deathmatch. Then, from Week 4 onwards, Gunfight Tournaments will also be returning alongside Snipers-Only Team Deathmatch. As per usual, neither Activision nor Infinity Ward has given any indication of how long these new/returning modes will remain playable before they are moved out of rotation. As such, players should get the most out of them while they can.
