If you’ve been a Fortnite player for some time, you probably know all about “bounce pads” and “jump pads,” which were previously taken out of the game and have in fact been missing for some time now. This isn’t a shock, since Epic Games is known to experiment with adding and removing things like this pretty often. But it looks like the pads may soon be making their return, if information Fortnite dataminers have come up with is any indication.
The bounce pads previously came in both vertical and directional versions, where one could bounce you up in the air and one that would instead bounce you forward and propel you ahead. It could be created something like a trap, and according to dataminers @twoepicbuddies, the pads are “buried” somewhere in the game and are set to return soon. If you don’t remember the bounce pads, you can check them out below.
The bounce pad is coming back. Can be placed on walls, roofs and the floor. It also boosts you when you hit it with the shopping cart! pic.twitter.com/KXlHhsPhUo

According to the leakers, it looks like this new trap could be placed on roofs, walls, or even the floor and the ground, and will boost you up if you jump on it with a shopping cart, which should make for some hilarious predicaments. But of course, Epic Games hasn’t confirmed anything specific just yet, so this is all hearsay. It could be a great new addition to the game again, however, because these pads would add some interesting new dynamics to Fortnite that it’s been missing for some time.
With all the other goofy augments, boost pads just seem to make sense, and we had them before, so they may as well come back. Typically when dataminers end up finding things, we do see them in the game in the future, but that’s not going to guarantee anything this time. When and where will we be able to pick them up? We’ll see, eventually. We’ll make sure you know what’s up with the bounce pads and their potential return as soon as something concrete comes out about them.
