New Madden 21 Flashbacks Released for MUT Including Marcus Mariota, Greg Olsen
It’s Wildcard Wednesday for Madden Ultimate Team, meaning a different promotion has popped up. For Wednesday, September 30, gamers get Madden 21 Flashbacks to close out the month. Among the star players with upgraded cards are former Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota and current Seattle Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen.
Mariota, Olsen lead Madden 21 Flashbacks
Madden 21 Flashbacks are released for players based on great performances of the past. With today’s release, there are five new Flashbacks players including Robert Woods from the Buffalo Bills based on a 2016 performance.
Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, Seahawks Titan Greg Olsen, and Dolphins LE Ndamukong Suh get new cards based on performances in 2015. The Kansas City Chiefs’ Marcus Peters gets one for his 2017 performance.
Mariota may mostly appeal to Titans theme team builders. However, his new card features 89 Speed and 89 Throw Power along with 88 Short Accuracy and 87 Passing Accuracy. So he’s not a bad option for many MUT rosters out there.
Meanwhile, Greg Olsen brings a 91 Catching, 91 Catch in Traffic, 88 Spectacular Catch, and 83 Speed for the tight end position. With his Power Up card, MUT players can choose from a variety of Team Chemistry options including his former squad, the Carolina Panthers.
Packs, Training, and Auction listings
To obtain Madden 21 Flashbacks players, head into the Ultimate Store. Choose the Training option and you’ll find Flashbacks packs for 3,800 Training. Each pack contains one of the Flashbacks players. The cards have an option to Quicksell for 3,600 Training. So, there’s a possibility to get back some Training if you don’t get the guy you want.
The Madden Auction House also provides an opportunity to buy or bid on any of the new Flashbacks. Prices are generally around 160,000 Coins or a bit lower on PS4 listings for Mariota, Peters, and Woods. Olsen and Suh appear to be available at a bit over 100,000 Coins, as of this report.
The latest group of Flashbacks players seems decent, but many gamers argue that the way Team of the Week is now set up makes it similar. The TOTW Heroes and LTD player each week are players who had great performances in the past. That included Mike Alstott and Cortland Finnegan for Madden’s TOTW 3.
