Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 is bringing the customary host of new content to both Modern Warfare and Warzone. However, while Warzone is getting new in-match events and modes, Modern Warfare’s core multiplayer has already gotten a batch of new maps. All told, players can now try out three new installments to Modern Warfare’s map lineup.
The Three New Modern Warfare Season 4 Maps
The first of the new Modern Warfare Season 4 maps is Zhukov Scrapyard, which makes its return after a first appearance in Modern Warfare 2. This small map is available in standard multiplayer, pitting players against one another among abandoned airplane hulls and concrete walls. Scrapyard is the only standard multiplayer map coming to Modern Warfare at launch this season. However, there is another multiplayer map on the way; Cheshire Park will be coming at some point later in the season.
The other two new maps which are available at launch are maps designed specifically for Gunfight and Ground War respectively. Trench is the new Gunfight map; a small and labyrinthine map which features a network of earthen trenches. On this map, players have the choice of entering the trenches, forcing you to fight at close-quarters, or stay on top of them. Of course, taking the latter course will mean that you’re far more exposed.
Finally, the third new map now available in Modern Warfare is Barakett Promenade. This expansive Ground War map is a snapshot taken from part of Warzone’s Verdansk map. As such, experienced Warzone players may well be familiar with the layout. Of course, as with all Ground War maps, expect to see plenty of heavy armaments and vehicles. While the rooftops may offer good long-range sightlines, the building interiors do favour close-range combat, providing opportunities for plenty of different combat styles. All three of these maps are available to play right now in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
