Three new maps are coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War next week, launching as part of Season 6 on the 7th of October. Players can look forward to two new maps designed for core 6v6 game modes, along with a third for 2v2 and 3v3 Gunfight modes. All three will be available at launch, rather than leaving any to arrive mid-season.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 6 – Multiplayer Maps
The first new map to be coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War next week in Season 6 is Deprogram. “During Adler’s interrogation and deprogramming,” explains Activision; “memories from his convoluted past come to life as a warped combat arena in Deprogram. Here, you’ll pass through Red Doors as the fight rages throughout Adler’s broken mind.”
Deprogram might very well be the most bizarre map to ever come to Black Ops Cold War. The Red Doors offer rapid passage all over the map; defying the laws of physics, and giving players access to unexpected routes from objective to objective. The rest of the map is a stitched-together mishmash of different places and events from Adler’s past.
The next new map is also for 6v6 game modes – Amerika. Set within a secret Soviet military facility in the U.S.S.R., Amerika is a recreation of a US town, similar to that which appears in the game’s story campaign. Players will clash through various recreated buildings; a theatre, pizzera, etc.
Finally, the third new map in Season 6 is Gluboko, a smaller map designed for 2v2/3v3 Gunfight modes. This map, like Amerika, is based on a portion of the Black Ops Cold War story campaign. The map takes place in the underground bunker portion of the KGB headquarters, below the Lubyanka Building. The centre of the map is the main briefing map, with combat spilling out into the rooms, hallways, and stairways on either side.
