Even though we are close to the release of PlayStation 5, Sony continues to provide support for the PlayStation 4, and should for some time. Right now, that includes a new PlayStation 4 system update. What will the version 7.50 update do, and how do you get it?
What to Know About the New PlayStation 4 Update
According to the patch notes, “This system software update improves system performance” (no surprise there). That is pretty vague, but system updates are important, so you should make sure you take care of updating your system as soon as you can.
In most cases, you should be able to download and install the update directly through your PlayStation 4 system. If it takes a little longer than usual, try not to fret. Download speeds are slower right now because so many people are at home and online. Sony is aware of the problem and doing its best. But if you are having a difficult time doing that for any reason, there are alternative ways you can download and install the system update. You can read about them in detail in the patch notes.
If you are looking for some new games to play on your freshly updated PlayStation 4 system, you will want to take a look at some of the amazing bargains which are available during the PlayStation Store Spring Sale. Also, make sure you don’t miss out on your chance to get Journey and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for free during the Sony Play at Home Initiative. If you get these games within the Play at Home Initiative timeframe, they are yours to keep forever without paying a dime.
