Hoping for a new Killzone game on PS5? If so, you have probably carefully been following all the rumors about the possibility. But now, we have another indication that a new Killzone game may not be on the horizon. It has to do with a new SIE Worldwide Studios page on the Sony website. Let’s take a closer look.
There is No Listing for Killzone on the SIE Worldwide Studios Page
You can view the SIE Worldwide Studios page for yourself right here. If you scroll down, you will find a section titled “Our studios.” In that section, Sony lists its studios. It also lists some of the games they are best known for. But under “Guerrilla,” it only says, “Amsterdam-based creator of the critically-acclaimed Horizon franchise.” It does not mention Killzone at all.
In case you are not aware, there have been rumors going around this year that there is a new Killzone game on the way for PS5. If Killzone were a priority for Sony, we might expect to see them list it under Guerrilla on the SIE Worldwide Studios page. But then again, does it prove anything that we don’t see it? Not really. Just because it isn’t listed doesn’t mean that Sony has no interest in it. In fact, if there is a PS5 Killzone game on the way and they don’t want us to know about it, it actually makes sense that they might choose not to list it here.
So, even though seeing Killzone on this page would have been encouraging, we don’t think it is necessarily the end of the world that we don’t. All hope isn’t lost just yet. If there are any further rumors or updates on a possible Killzone game for PS5, we will let you know in our PlayStation news.
