New Star Citizen Ship Pack Will Cost You A Cool $27,000

As of late, recently announced blockbuster games like Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V have been grabbing all the headlines. However, not to be outdone despite its age, Cloud Imperium Games’ ambitious space sim Star Citizen is now offering an expansive ship pass called the Legatus Pack that grants access to virtually all of the game’s current ships and a bevy of other items. The only catch is that it will cost you a jaw-dropping $27,000.

Cloud Imperium Games is aware of how exorbitant the Legatus Pack’s price tag is, which is why it’s currently only offering the pack to members of Star Citizen’s Concierge Program, a program you gain entry to by spending at least $1,000 on Star Citizen items. Those who aren’t part of the Concierge Program can’t even access the Legatus Pack’s store link, though a helpful Star Citizen forum member was kind enough to provide a list of everything the pack contains for us non-Concierge plebs to look over.

In total, the Legatus Pack comes with 117 different in-game ships along with 163 bonus in-game items that should be more than enough for a group of players to gain a strong foothold in the game. The forum thread also states that any non-Concierge member who wants to buy the Legatus Pack can contact Cloud Imperium’s customer support to bypass the Concierge restriction, assuming of course they have $27 grand lying around.

Ever since its original Kickstarter campaign launched way back in 2012, Star Citizen has become quite infamous both for its pervasive feature creep and subsequent delays, and the ridiculous amounts of money it has managed to earn despite the many release deadlines it has missed. As of this writing, fans have pledged over $200 million to the game’s development, and those who want to have a permanent part of the game’s world to call home can currently reserve in-game plots of land for a mere $100 per plot.

Star Citizen has been slowly rolling out new gameplay modules in fits and starts, though for now it still remains as an in-development project with no final release window in sight.
