With the conclusion yesterday of Valorant Act 2, Riot Games is wasting no time, and launching straight into Act 3 today with the release of Patch 1.10. Along with a new map, Valorant Act 3 features the largest Valorant Battlepass thus far, with more content and cosmetics than ever before.
The New Valorant Act 3 Battlepass
The Valorant Act 3 Battlepass launches today, the 13th of October, as part of the launch of Act 3. As normal, the pass features 10 chapters of new content, but there is more to it this time around. The pass includes more content than that of either the Act 1 or Act 2 Battlepasses; giving players better value for money with their purchase. Specifically, weekly mission progress has been revamped, allowing for faster unlocks. Additionally, the pass includes extra Epilogue tiers too.
Exclusive items in the Valorant Act 3 Battlepass include, among other things; the “Chilly McFreeze” and “Disco Ball” Gun Buddies, Viper Spray, and “Radianite Hazard” Player Card, along with the Ruin Vandal and Surge Bucky. Otherwise, the format of the Battlepass is much the same as in previous Valorant Acts. While the third Battlepass is larger than past ones, the launch of Act 3 may be slightly smaller overall than previous season launches. This is because the next new Agent, Skye, has had her release date delayed to the 27th of October.
According to Riot, the reason for this delay is a trade-off for releasing the new Icebox map early. “Simply put,” the studio writes; “our last few patches haven’t been the most stable, and we know more of you want Icebox. Delaying the release of a new Agent allows us to handle any issues that might emerge when launching alongside Patch 1.10”. As such, players do have a new map to try out today. However, they’ll have to wait another two weeks for the new Agent. Hopefully, the new Icebox map and the Act 3 Battlepass provide plenty of content to keep players occupied until then.
