PlayStation has released a new video entitled “Midgard Mishaps,” showcasing a variety of the funniest God of War bugs recorded during the game’s development. The video assembles footage from Santa Monica Studios to show bugs from several different gameplay categories.

“What happens in Midgard, stays in Midgard,” says the video’s description on YouTube. The new video divides the bug footage between the categories of; “Atreus,” “Combat,” “Dance Off,” and “Cinematics”. It showcases some of the best bugs which Santa Monica Studios found during the development of God of War; everything from Kratos spinning uncontrollably on the ground to Baldur’s wrist rotating 360 degrees to Atreus’ face distorting; “… that’s fucked up,” says Cory Barlog, the game’s director.

“Making a video game is difficult,” says PlayStation; “Making a stable game that both pushes the capabilities of the hardware and creates a super immersive, no-camera-cut, epically-sized AAA gaming experience like the one seen in the new God of War, is vastly more difficult. This massive task, involving hundreds of people developing and implementing content simultaneously, which can often have a tendency to break things, definitely added to the challenge.”

It has now been quite a few months since the release of God of War, earlier this year. At the time, the game achieved record-breaking levels of success. It outsold all previous titles in the series by a significant margin and became one of the most successful PlayStation exclusives ever. Recent news indicates that Santa Monica Studios is preparing to start development on a sequel to the popular game; it emerged several days ago that the studio had begun hiring new developers to fill numerous different roles. Additionally, the studio may have hired several former Telltale Games staff, as they openly sought to offer them opportunities when that studio unexpectedly closed down several weeks ago.
