The WWE 2K20 game arrives next month with a new updated look for the gameplay, as well as superstar likenesses. While 2K has released various WWE superstars’ entrance videos, they’ve yet to reveal the official roster. What we do know is that there will be the returning 2K Showcase Mode, and it will feature the Four Horsewomen’s rise from NXT to the main roster. Recently, new WWE 2K20 gameplay images surfaced to show off more of that particular mode.
WWE 2K20 gameplay for Showcase mode revealed
We’ve already seen the 2K20 matches list and now we’re seeing a bit more of what the main superstars look like. The new WWE 2K20 Showcase Mode images arrive from a Japanese website (Gamer.NE.JP) and show screenshots never seen before. A video on the SmackTalks shows off all three new screenshots, all of which feature the Women’s Evolution.
In the first new shot, gamers see an image of Sasha Banks performing her double knee move from the corner to take down Bayley to the mat. It’s at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn where the two fought in a classic bout over the NXT Women’s Championship. In another screenshot, Sasha uses her knee to hold Bayley again the middle rope to try to wear her down.
The final screenshot is from WrestleMania 32. This is from the Triple Threat match involving Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks. Sasha is trying for a backslide pin with Becky as shown on the YouTube video’s thumbnail below. In the WM32 match, Charlotte goes in to break it up. The video narrator speculates this could be from a cutscene at the start of the match.
These new WWE 2K20 gameplay screenshots from Japan join the Showcase trailer video previously unveiled in the United States. It featured WWE Legends including Stone Cold, Sting, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels in the expensive mansion. The end of the trailer shows some of the Four Horsewomen gameplay in motion during their matches.
The new WWE 2K Showcase mode will be a way to present the story of the “Women’s Evolution” as Becky, Sasha, Charlotte, and Bayley created new history. It is the latest Showcase mode in a recent line up of them which feature important superstars’ stories or histories. Last year’s featured Daniel Bryan, who returned from what looked like a career-ending injury to wrestle again and become champion.
