Last week’s Attack of the Undead in-game event for Call of Duty: WW2 promised that an additional game mode would be making its way to the title. It began with a new version of Infected, but another new option called Hordepoint was supposed to be coming as well. Sledgehammer Games offered no hints on when it would be coming, but now we know: It looks like Sledgehammer Games and Activision have finally brought the new mode into the first-person shooter for all fans to enjoy.
Hordepoint is a a variation on the classic mode Hardpoint, though as the name implies, it features a special Nazi Zombies lilt, as they’ll be shambling after you quicker than you can say “Oh my God, there are zombies running toward me!” You’ll be tasked with holding one area of the map for a specific amount of time, and then hold off additional swaths of the undead, all while trying to hold off the enemy team. It’s intense, quick, and ridiculously difficult if you don’t know what you’re doing, but for everyone else it’s a delicious challenge.

Infected has been removed to introduce Hordepoint into the game, but it will likely make another appearance in the game later on down the line. You’ve got something new and exciting to play, at least, so there’s nothing to be disappointed about here. Hordepoint is one of the best parts of the Attack of the Undead event, and it’s definitely some of the most fun we’ve had in the special promotional period thus far.
Round up some friends and play through Hordepoint before it’s gone, and you’ll be glad that you did. You need some hardcore practice in before Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 ends up rolling around later this year anyway, so you can thank us for the advice later.
