Fortnite has surged in popularity over the past few months, largely thanks to the developer’s dedication to the game’s constant improvement. However, with consistent updates also come new bugs and issues.
Epic has put in a very admirable amount of effort into addressing glitches and bugs as they pop up in Fortnite, but sometimes it seems that as soon as they fix one batch of issues, another one comes into play.
According to the Fortnite Trello Community Board, Fortnite’s next update aims to fix several issues that are currently in the game. That will either be v3.7 orv4.0, depending on whether there is one more update before Season 3 ends.
Here, we’ve included a list of some of the bugs that will be addressed.
Players Can Fall Through Enemy Built Strucures
- Bug: If an enemy is eliminated on top of a structure they just built, then that structure will have no collision and players will fall through it
- Status: Fixed in next release
- Temporary Workaround: Don’t walk on structures that an enemy has been eliminated on
Players Cannot Save or Rename Replays on Consoles
- Bug: Some players are unable to save or rename replays on Xbox and PS4
- Status: Fixed in next release
Crashing on Mobile
- Bug: We are seeing a high number of crashes on the mobile platform
- Status: Fixed in next release
Traps May Not Activate Initially when Placed
- Bug: Players can run under traps without activating it when it’s placed near certain objects, such as doors or stairs. The trap will not activate until the player passes through it a second time
- Status: Investigating/In development
- Temporary Workaround: Avoid placing traps near the objects/structures listed above
Meteorites Causing Drops in FPS
- Bug: Meteorites are causing drops in FPS for some players
- Status: Investigating/In development
Sensitivity Settings Adjustment Issue on Xbox
- Bug: Instead of players being able to adjust their sensitivity by the decimal point, only the whole number can be changed
- Status: Investigating/In development
Pressing the Xbox or PS4 Button Will Cancel the Matchmaking Queues
- Bug: Using the PlayStation or Xbox button while in a queue will cancel the queue. If you’re in a party at the lobby and use the PS4 or Xbox button on your controller to invite other friends and the match starts while you’re still in the “Home” screen, then you will be left in the lobby while your party members get into a match
- Status: Investigating/In development
- Temporary Workaround: Don’t be in the “Home” screen while searching for a game
Cannot Unmute Players While Crossplaying
- Bug: Players are sometimes unable to unmute party members. This tends to occur more often when crossplaying. If you encounter this, Epic wants you to submit a bug report in-game by going to options, navigating to the “Feedback” tab, then submitting it as a bug. This will help provide more information to Epic so they can find the cause.
- Status: Need your help
Even though new issues tend to pop up often in Fortnite, Epic’s tenacity in finding solutions and willingness to listen to player feedback is encouraging. If you come across a glitch in your battle royale adventures, be sure to let Epic know via the “Feedback” tab or the game’s official forums.
