If you love to explore massive game worlds, you should be excited about the prospects which PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will make possible. We have heard in the past that next gen consoles will be amazing for open world gaming. But now, Elijah Freeman of Virtuous has added to our excitement concerning next gen console gaming potential.
What Freeman Said About Massive Game Worlds on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5
While talking to IGN, Freeman said, “According to one developer, PS5 and Xbox Series X will support massive game worlds unlike anything we have experienced before. You’ll also be able to move around them much quicker, whether that’s driving in a high-speed sports car or flying around on a dragon, perhaps with no loading screens at all.”
In fact, the reason that PS5 and Xbox Series X will be capable of supporting massive game worlds is because both consoles will feature SSD technology and other powerful hardware advancements. Quite a few developers have commented on the SSDs over the past year, talking about the many improvements we can expect with level design, realism, and more.
So, it is possible that we will soon experience games (open world games in particular) at a scale that we never have previously, and can scarcely imagine now. And not only will these massive game worlds be larger, but they should also look and feel more real, and we should be able to explore them in a way that is more fluid and natural than ever. Further, all of this will be encapsulated in a next gen console experience which includes numerous other quality of life upgrades.
As we get closer to the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, we will continue to keep you up to date on all the latest announcements and rumors. Keep following our PlayStation news section so you don’t miss out on a single exciting update.
