NHL 21 Player Ratings Revealed for Top 10 Goalies

NHL 21 player ratings reveal week is underway, as the first group of top 10 players are now unveiled by EA Sports. The first group is based on who the top 10 goalies are in the virtual hockey game. That includes superstars such as Andrei Vasilevskiy, Tuuka Rask, and Ben Bishop, some of who are likely to appear in the overall top 10 for NHL 21 players.

Top 10 goalies lead NHL 21 player ratings

They won’t be the highest-rated players in the new EA Sports hockey game, but five of them come in with ratings of 90 or better. In terms of NHL 21 player ratings for goalkeepers, Tampa Bay’s Andre Vasilevskiy leads all players.

Vasilevskiy led the league in terms of wins with 35 this past season and was part of the recently-crowned Stanley Cup champions. In addition, he had a goals allowed average of 2.56 and a 91.7 save percentage for the Lightning. He comes in as the top goalie in the NHL 21 player ratings with a 90.

Rounding out the top five are Anaheim’s John Gibson, Boston’s Tuuka Rask, Montreal’s Carey Price, and Winnipeg’s Connor Hellebuyck. Each of them comes in with a 90 OVR, so they’re within striking distance of the overall leader. Rask was second in save percentage and led in GAA category this past season, while Hellebuyck led the league with 1,656 total saves.

More OVRs coming up for positions

The new NHL 21 player ratings will continue throughout the week, with other positions likely on the way including centers, wings, and defensive stars. We’ve already seen some ratings for certain NHL stars who should rank high up there.

So for example, we’ve seen Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov at 92 OVR. Both Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby and cover star Alex Ovechkin have 93 OVRs for the NHL 21 player ratings. So they’re likely amongst top stars in the game along with guys like Conor McDavid and Nathan Mackinnon.

Check out last year’s player ratings to get an idea of who made the top 10. It included a few goalies and several of the players mentioned above who are likely to appear again for NHL 21.
