NightCry PlayStation Vita Port Will Release Next Week

Back in January 2015, “Project Scissors” or NightCry was being announced over at Kickstarter. The game made by Playism Games was considered a spiritual successor to the Clock Tower series. In fact, the series creator Hifumi Kono was leading the project. The project got successfully funded and development of the game culminated in 2016 with a Steam release.

The game was treated to a mixed reception on its Steam release and no further developments were made. However, May 2018 saw the surprise announcement of a Mobile and PlayStation Vita port of the game. While the mobile version of NightCry is still nowhere to be seen, the PlayStation Vita version has been confirmed to release within next week.

Playism Games announced the NightCry PlayStation Vita port in 2018

Players who haven’t had the chance to play NightCry will definitely have the chance to do so on their PSVita. The game will release on January 31, 2019 and will be available for digital stores. This version of NightCry will be priced at $25 USD and will be distributed by Active Gaming Media.

The game will bring back the point-and-click mechanics which made Clock Tower games popular. In addition, the story of the game centers around a murder mystery inside a luxury cruise liner. The main objective is to learn the truth while escaping certain death from the Scissor Walker.

Playism Games also made a trailer to announce the release of the PlayStation Vita port of NightCry. The trailer showcases the scariest aspects of the game and the point-and-click mechanics. You can check out the trailer by looking at the video below:
