Nintendo has just introduced a brand new service called “Nintendo Switch Concierge.” The service is aimed at gamers who just bought a Switch and need some help getting started. What is interesting about this service is not just the value it will bring to Nintendo gamers, but also the fact that the company is using Microsoft Teams to make it happen. Let’s find out more.
What is the Nintendo Switch Concierge Service?
Basically, this is an onboarding service for new players. Nintendo is going to be communicating with players directly using the Nintendo Switch Concierge Service. Conferences will include the following topics: Nintendo Switch 101, Games (Getting Started), Games (What to Play Next), Security and Privacy, Nintendo Account, and Customization. You’ll have a chance to ask questions of a company representative.
If you want to access the service, you must have “recently purchased a Nintendo Switch system.” What “recent” means is unclear. Nintendo did not define it. You will need to be at least 18. While there is no cost to use the service, only one session is available per person. Nintendo also states that by participating in the service, you acknowledge the company’s right to capture video “of you, your voice and your surroundings in order to interact with you, answer your questions and enable Nintendo to provide you with the requested service.”
The choice to use Microsoft Teams is interesting being as Microsoft is, of course, Nintendo’s direct competitor. It is nice to see the cooperation between them and a positive relationship.
