Promotion of the FIFA 19 video game has featured plenty of stars leading up to its release. Now, several stars are back again to help with EA Sports’ latest campaign. This time around it’s a new FIFA 19 World Tour video in New York City. Starring in the latest promotional video are two major celebrities from the city from the worlds of hip-hop and football. Here’s the latest on their participation in the FIFA 19 event as well as other celebrities who are involved.
FIFA 19 World Tour hits NYC with ODB, A$AP
As it travels the globe, the FIFA 19 World tour hit New York City with a classic matchup between two celebrity gamers. On one side is wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., a Pro Ball player for the New York Giants. His opponent is platinum-selling hip-hop recording artist A$AP Rocky, who hails from Harlem in NYC. A$AP’s albums include the 2013 debut “Long. Live. ASAP” and follow-up “At. Long. Last. ASAP” in 2015.
During the video (below), the two celebs head over to the Kith office in NYC to meet up with founder Ronnie Fieg. During some of their comments, “ODB” admits that soccer was the sport he first fell in love with during his childhood recollection. He also talks about how long he’s been playing the FIFA game, while A$AP Rocky jokes about some of the games he enjoys playing.
The matchup in the video above features the two celebs squaring off with their teams of choice. There’s also just a bit of trash talk going on between the two. That’s to be expected when two bold celebrities collide in a friendly game of football.
Interestingly, this matchup features no actual soccer players, such as New York Red Bulls players. Still, both of these high-profile celebs are big fans of the game, so it made sense to bring them together for this competition.
