One Piece World Seeker delayed to 2019? Say it ain’t so! Unfortunately, One Piece fans may leave reading this feeling more than a little dejected as that does seem to be the case. While anime fans are sure to get their fill through other games like Dragon Ball FighterZ and Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker, it just won’t be the same as sitting down with your console and getting to play the latest One Piece game, now will it?
This news comes straight from Gematsu, who discovered that in One Piece’s official #90 manga the game had been displayed to release in the year 2019. The game was originally thought to be coming out sometime this year, so the news that this won’t be the case will certainly surprise more than a few people who were looking forward to playing the newest One Piece game.
Bandai Namco has unfortunately not given a reason why the game will not be releasing this year, but we can speculate that the game simply isn’t polished enough to be released just yet. Or there are simply some difficulties that they aren’t comfortable with disclosing to the public as of now.
Either way, fans will have to wait for some Luffy goodness for quite a while now. If you’re not a fan but have been intrigued by the game, check out the official description below:
“Play as Luffy as you explore the mysterious Jail Island to uncover the secrets of this unique island city, where cultures that should clash actually end up existing together under the bond of island life. Scale skyscrapers and shops using Luffy’s ‘Gum Gum Devil Fruit’ ability and seamlessly jump from building to building, taking in the sights of Jail Island that blend nature and powerful science to create formidable buildings and bars. Discover the story behind the institutions created by the World Government and the Marines, and help Luffy find the reason why they exist.”
One Piece World Seeker will be available for PC, PS4 and the Xbox One when released in 2019. In Japan, the game will only be released for the PS4. Be sure to get your pre-orders in folks, the wait may make the heart grow fonder.
