Just like last year, players were asking about one of the fan-favorite events in Overwatch – Winter Wonderland. In 2018, Blizzard updated a lot of their in-game maps with the holiday and Christmas theme including Blizzard World, Hanamura, King’s Row, and the Black Forest. Along with that, players got some really sick-looking skins and cosmetics with this update. Until now, we haven’t heard anything about this event returning this year in Overwatch. But, yesterday, Overwatch officially announced that Winter Wonderland will be returning in Overwatch this year.
Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2019 Starts Today
Yesterday, Blizzard announced that Overwatch will be having a Winter Wonderland party this year as well. And with that, players will be brand-new event-exclusive skins and other cosmetics. They even showed us a glimpse of the brand-new skin for Sigma called – Rime. It was teased back during the BlizzCon 2019.
“Winter (Wonderland) is coming… Put your enemies on ice as Rime Sigma when Overwatch Winter Wonderland returns on Dec. 10.”
The event will run from December 10, 2019, to the end of the year ending on January 2, 2020. So, if you’re a fan of Overwatch, you’ll have around two weeks to grab these skins and have fun in the game.
As far as other heroes’ skins are related, we don’t know anything about it and Blizzard hasn’t revealed them yet. It seems this event will go live with the update 1.42.
