Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie to Host Charity Twitch Stream Tomorrow
First announced at TwitchCon earlier this year, the State Farm Charity Streams initiative is aiming to rally the gaming audience in support of a common charitable cause. The project will span six charity gaming streams, each hosted by a different well-known streamer, and each in support of a charity of their choice. Due to be held tomorrow, the first of these will be raising money for The Highest Hopes Foundation and will be hosted by Panic! at the Disco’s lead singer and Highest Hopes founder, Brendon Urie.
The Six Upcoming State Farm Charity Streams
The State Farm Charity Streams project was announced earlier this year by Brendon Urie and Twitch streamer DrLupo; a two-month event which will comprise six charity livestreams, taking place through November and December with each hosted by a different streamer. The first of these charity livestreams, hosted by Brendon Urie himself, will start tomorrow (the 15th of November) at 2 PM EST. You can tune in at twitch.tv/brendonurie. “After kicking things off at TwitchCon with the legend DrLupo, I’m excited to host a special charity stream for the Highest Hopes Foundation with support from my friends at State Farm,” Urie said of the upcoming event; “The gaming community can be a powerful force for so much good – let’s make a difference together!”
The stream will, of course, be raising money for The Highest Hopes Foundation. Founded by Urie, the foundation provides support to non-profit organisations which; “lead, develop, and advocate support for human rights,” with a focus on supporting any who suffer abuse based on their; “gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity”. Panic! at the Disco has provided funding to the foundation by, for example, donating $1 of every ticket sale during their U.S. touring.
After tomorrow’s livestream, a schedule of five further charity streams will take place during November and December. Details of the dates, start times, and streamers, together with links to their respective channels can be found below. Of course, gaming has a strong history of raising money for charity; from events like ExtraLife and many others, to the efforts of individual streamers.
