Fortnite Battle Royale will receive patch 5.4 next week, most likely on Tuesday. This will be the first update in September, and it is going to be a big one. Epic Games has decided to bring a few big gameplay changes next week, and some of them are going to change the way the game is played.
The game developer recently released another developer update, showing some changes before they hit live servers with the upcoming patch. Lead developer Eric Williamson talked about the storm behavior, weapon changes, vaulting, and more.
The biggest change that will come with patch 5.40 is the destruction of player-built structures in the storm. Once the storm gets to these structures, it will deal damage over time, just like it deals damage to players, which will change the end-game approach for many players.

In short, this means that turtling will be less effective and that Fortnite Battle Royale players will not be able to use sky bases anymore. It is important to note that the storm will deal damage only to player-built structures, and that this will happen only in the final stages of the game.
When it comes to weapons, the game developer announced that Revolver will be vaulted next week. On the other side, Dual Pistols and Suppressed Pistol will receive Rare variants, while Remote Explosives will be upgraded to Epic rarity.
Furthermore, the developer talked about balance changes and stack sizes of certain items. After patch 5.4, players will be getting two Boogie Bombs from chests instead of one. Additionally, players will be able to carry three Shield Potions in one inventory slot, which will be a huge change.
If everyone goes according to plan, the patch will be released on Tuesday, September 4. The patch is also expected to bring a new limited-time game mode, a new event, and many new skins.
