PUBG’s newest map, Sanhok, just released to all players, and instead of living it up in the new areas, people are letting some little old mannequins scare them. That’s just typical, I guess, focusing on something in a battle royale that isn’t even scary, but I digress. It looks like there’s a group of dead-eyed mannequins in simple white dresses in an upstairs area of a building that people are comparing to to “zombies” and as such as “taking years” off of players’ lives. Come on, seriously?
Redditor _Zereal_ shared a video of the mannequins that are scaring the pants off folks, running into the area without expecting them, and it’s pretty silly. But if you’re easily terrified of inanimate objects, perhaps you might find them a little unsettling.
PUBG can already be tense as it is, especially since you’re having to spend all your time surviving, with danger and imminent death right around the corner just about at every moment. If you haven’t yet discovered this area, consider this fair warning so you don’t happen upon them on accident. It could mean the end of a happy playing session and the start of a new complex for you if you’re the type of person who gets terrified of things like this.
The stylistic decision to include things like this in an action-oriented game is a strange one, though. Perhaps it was PUBG Corp.’s intention to throw players off and insert something so off-putting that they wouldn’t be able to handle themselves when they went into this specific area, just as a funny nod. Whatever the case may be, it’s disturbing players in such a way that they’re continuing to discuss it over on Reddit, so it looks like it’s mission accomplished.
Have you seen the mannequins yet? What do you think about them?
