The launch of Season 5 for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone delivered a whole host of new content across the game’s various modes. Tied to the new Battle Pass, one part of this launch content was the latest new playable Operator, Kitsune; a Perseus-aligned cyber-security expert.
Call of Duty Season 5 Operators – Kitsune
“When the Yakuza refused to let her join their ranks,” writes Treyarch; “Kitsune took matters into her own hands. Cautious, thorough, and effective, she relishes any chance to use the tools of her enemies against them.”
Kaori “Kitsune” Tanaka is now available to play for anybody who gets the Season 5 Battle Pass; she features as the Tier 0 reward, unlockable simply by acquiring the Battle Pass itself. The Pass is available to buy for 1,000 CP in-game. Of course, as usual, a Bundle is also available for 2,400 CP, which includes 20 Tier Skips. If players want to get Kitsune’s Ultra-rarity “Samurai” Skin, they must reach the other end of the Battle Pass. (The skin is solely available as an unlock for reaching Tier 100.)
For the first time, as an extra incentive for the Battle Pass Bundle, a separate cosmetic skin for Kitsune is available alongside the items in the Bundle. This skin is the “Kyubi” Legendary Operator Skin. Note, however, that the Kyubi skin will only come with purchases of the Battle Pass Bundle during the first two weeks of Season 5.
Kitsune is the latest Warsaw Pact Operator who is also an agent of Perseus, following a trend of the first new Operator each season to be a Perseus character. She is also the sixth Perseus agent to feature in Black Ops Cold War, following the addition of Jackal in Season 4. The other Perseus agents who are playable thus far are Stitch, Naga, Wraith, Knight, and Jackal; all of whom were added as headline features in past seasons.
