Over the past week, 2K Sports has revealed the additional PGA Tour 2K21 players available in the upcoming golf simulation game. There will be a total of 12 pro golfers in the game, including cover star Justin Thomas. Other stars who will join him include former Masters winner Sergio Garcia and former U.S. Open winner Jim Furyk.
Full list of PGA Tour 2K21 players revealed
We already knew for several weeks that Justin Thomas is the PGA 2K cover star, but it had been teased there would be over 11 more golfers joining him as part of the new game. Now we finally know who they are ahead of the 2K21 game’s July release.
One of the biggest additions to the game will be Sergio Garcia. The 40-year-old won the 2017 Masters Tournament and has tied for second in both the PGA and Open Championship during his career. He was also ranked as high as No. 2 in the PGA back in 2008. He’s a major part of the roster it seems, but fans have questioned his likeness based on the image the PGA Tour 2K account tweeted out (below).
Also in the game will be the 2003 U.S. Open champion and 2010 FedEx Cup Champion Jim Furyk. Furyk ranks amongst the top 50 golfers for all-time career wins. Here’s a first look at Mr. 58’s likeness from the PGA Tour 2K21 players revealed this past week:
Gary Woodland aka “G Dub” is another notable addition to the game. Woodland claimed the U.S. Open in 2019, making him one of the most recent major tournament winners on the roster.
While PGA Tour Twitter has revealed the golfers over the past week, they’ve also revealed them on their official Instagram account. Here’s the full list of PGA 2K21 players:
- Patrick Cantlay
- Cameron Champ
- Bryson DeChambeau
- Tony Finau
- Jim Furyk
- Sergio Garcia
- Billy Ho
- Kevin Kisner
- Matt Kuchar
- Ian Poulter
- Justin Thomas
- Gary Woodland
These are the notable PGA Tour players you’ll be going up against in the newest 2K Sports game which drops in late August.
Who are the notable player absences?
There are some major golf stars missing from the PGA Tour 2K21 players, but it’s understandable. They include one of the all-time greats in the sport, Tiger Woods. It’s also missing other top golfers such as Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson, and Dustin Johnson, to name some.
Still, licensing rights and agreements are often in play with sports games, so that could be the case here. The game still features some great stars, and they’ll give real-world opposition to make the realistic courses even realer.
As previously mentioned, Justin Thomas will appear on the cover with the new game slated to arrive on August 21 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There will be a Standard and a Digital Deluxe edition. See pre-order details at the official website here.
