Obviously, the development team working on Xbox Scarlett has been testing for a long time as they work on perfecting the next gen console. But now, it is far enough along that Xbox boss Phil Spencer has been able to take one home and try it for himself. His verdict? He is “having a blast.”
Phil Spencer Reports He is “Having a Blast” With Scarlett
Phil Spencer made the following tweet:
His text reads, “And it’s started….this week I brought my Project Scarlett console home and it’s become my primary console, playing my games, connecting to the community and yes, using my Elite Series 2 controller, having a blast. Great work by the team, 2020 is going to be an incredible year.”
Spencer does not provide any details as to what version of the console he is playing. Is it the finished version? Probably not, as this itself would seem to be a testing phase. But, it is probably a version which is close to what the finished product will look like though, considering that it is almost 2020, and Spencer actually brought the console home with him rather than running tests at the office.
While many gamers have responded to his tweet expressing envy (rightly so!), we like that the head of Xbox has made Scarlett his personal console at this time. It’s awesome that he is taking such a hands-on role in evaluating the Scarlett’s readiness for market. If it is passes muster for his home entertainment use, surely that means it is in great shape for release. And thus far, he sounds very happy with its performance.
Most of the news we have been hearing about Scarlett concerns its powerful solid state drive. Microsoft also vowed to make first party exclusives a high priority during the next generation. So, check back again soon for more news and rumors about the Xbox Scarlett.
