A month ago, Blizzard officially announced that Overwatch will be hitting Nintendo Switch later in October. Prior to the official announcement, there was a leak regarding this by Amazon. They accidentally put out a Nintendo Switch skin of Overwatch which got a lot of traction and ended up bring true. Overwatch will be releasing on Nintendo Switch on October 15, 2019, this month. Keep in mind that this game will run at 30 FPS on Switch consoles.
Physical Copies For Overwatch Nintendo Don’t Have Cartridge
According to Polygon, the physical copies of the Overwatch Nintendo Switch edition won’t have a cartridge. Considering this is an online multiplayer game that gets updated frequently, it seems fine with the game not having a cover. This means that the physical version of the game only be a card/code that you’ll enter in your Nintendo Switch account to download the game. The game is currently around 30 GB on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Blizzard recently pushed an update in Overwatch PTR servers on PC that brought a lot of changes to the heroes in the game. Almost every hero got tweaked one way or another. On top of that, there were a lot of Workshop updates as well. You can check out our article regarding this in detail here.
If you don’t know, Overwatch players have spent over $1 Billion dollars on in-game content (microtransactions, skins, etc.) so far. This excludes the earnings from Overwatch merch, collectibles that Blizzard has made. This is a huge milestone done by both the Overwatch community and the developers as well.
