Earlier today, Bethesda finally announced the release dates for the Murkmire DLC, the next upcoming expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Online. The DLC is already available on the game’s PTS servers, but will be released fully on PC in a few weeks’ time. The console release will follow in early November. However, in the meantime, the DLC prologue is available to play in The Elder Scrolls: Online from today, for free.
How to Play the Murkmire DLC Prologue
As of today, Bethesda has made the Murkmire DLC prologue available to all players in The Elder Scrolls: Online. This prologue consists of two new story quests and six new daily quests; all designed to help players prepare for the release of the Murkmire DLC. If you want to try out the prologue content for yourself, you’ll need to start the first prologue quest. You can either acquire it for free in the Crown Store, or from “Help Wanted” posters which appear in Daggerfall, Davon’s Watch, and Vulkhel Guard.
The two story quests will introduce players to Concordia Mercius and the new faction of Cyrodilic Collections. Players will be tasked with helping the group recover Argonian artefacts which have been taken out of Black Marsh. This setup allows players to get a taste for what is coming in Murkmire without leaving the game’s existing areas. The six daily quests will also have players collecting items associated with Black Marsh. Players who complete both of the prologue story quests will gain the Murkmire Grave-Stake Memento; a relic which is presumably going to play a role in the DLC. Players can also gain reward boxes containing Murkmire-themed items by completing the daily quests. In fact, these boxes can contain special fragments. Assemble all seven and you can create a Swamp Jelly pet.
