Every Player in Fallout 76 Will Have a Crate That Other Players Can’t Access

Many elements of Fallout 76 multiplayer are still unknown, as Bethesda hasn’t shown much of the upcoming game’s multiplayer features. With little time left before the launch of the game’s beta, it now seems unlikely that they plan to do so. Rather, it seems that players will have to experience things for themselves in October. One feature which has now been revealed by Pete Hines, however, is that everybody will have a personal storage crate which other players will be unable to access.

Personal Crate Storage in Fallout 76 Multiplayer

Pete Hines has been active in recent weeks on Twitter responding to fan questions about Fallout 76. His answers have oftentimes been vague or cryptic, but in some cases he has also revealed previously unknown details. This is another of those cases. Just a few days ago, Hines was asked whether players had any place to lock up valuables, and whether any such place would be vulnerable to theft. He responded by revealing that every player will have a crate of some sort to store things in. Moreover, other players will be unable to access it.

This should be yet another reassurance to those worried about the Fallout 76 multiplayer. It seems that Bethesda has been especially wary when it comes to multiplayer features. Both Hines and Todd Howard have gone out of their way on multiple occasions to reassure fans that Bethesda is taking things very carefully. With hefty restrictions on PvP, player-to-player trading, nukes, and more, it seems likely that players will probably find the Fallout 76 multiplayer a better feature than many may expect.

Fallout 76 Multiplayer Could Centre Around Camps and Workshops

Hines also clarified the difference between CAMPs and Workshops. CAMPs are unique to players. Other players can’t access them. Workshops, on the other hand, are “common areas,” and rival players will be able to claim them. However, players can use workshops to gain large quantities of resources, according to Hines. This would seemingly make them rather valuable to hold, even for a short while.
