Players Can Change Their Appearance in Fallout 76 Whenever They Want

The Fallout 76 Beta is due to begin in a few weeks’ time. It will start in the final week of October for Xbox One, and one week later on other platforms. Once the beta begins, fans will finally get to experience a lot of features which have yet to be shown by Bethesda. One of those is the ability to change your Fallout 76 character appearance whenever you want.

Fallout 76 Character Appearances and How to Change Them

Character creation is a staple feature in Bethesda’s RPG titles, and many fans have been known to spend hours just creating their perfect appearance. Of course, it’s easy to make something during character creation which ends up looking different than intended once you actually get into the game. Such concerns will be a thing of the past in Fallout 76; players will be able to change the appearance of their character at any point in the game’s menu. This feature had been mentioned in passing by Bethesda on a few occasions, and Pete Hines recently confirmed its existence. When asked whether characters could grow beards or gain scars during gameplay, Hines pointed out that players would now be able to add such things themselves whenever they want.

Although some players might feel that this feature is unrealistic, Bethesda has often included it somewhere in their previous titles; usually, in the form of a specific NPC who can change your appearance for a price. With no human NPCs in Fallout 76, and a different approach to storytelling; it seems Bethesda decided to simply make the feature free and accessible at all times. Plus, at no point does anyone have to take advantage of the feature; it’s there if anyone is unhappy with their in-game appearance, but many players may never even touch it. Fallout 76 may have more reason to tweak your character’s appearance than previous Fallout titles though, thanks to the game’s new Photo mode.
