Players Spend A Whopping $1 Million A Day on Fortnite’s Mobile Adaptation

We all know Fortnite is ridiculously, massively popular. That’s not a point anyone is contesting. But it’s only been available as a mobile game for a few short months, and it’s already earning an insane amount of money. According to analytics firm Sensor Tower, it’s raked in over $25 million in its first 30 days of official availability on the iOS App Store. In case you were wondering how much people love their Fortnite, let this be a testament to how huge the craze has actually gotten.

Consider for a moment the fact that the game has only been available since April 1 for players, and the average user is dropping about $1 million a day, according to Sensor Tower’s data. This places the Fortnite mobile app in a position where it’s outranking the “important” apps of the world like YouTube and Tinder, which we all know folks spend most of their time on already.

To rise to the top of the top-earning app lists as it’s done via the Apple App Store proves a ludicrous amount of popularity by far. Right now, the app is only second to Netflix in terms of how much time is actually being spent in the app, which makes sense when you think of all the kids being reprimanded for playing in school and whatnot.

What’s more, the game hasn’t even made its way to Android devices just yet. That means its prosperity could only skyrocket from here, as long as it keeps up the momentum. It’s up for grabs for free right now across iOS, and you can also play it via cross-play with other devices, which no doubt helps keep it at the top of the charts consistently.

Sensor Tower’s data forecasts a projected gross of $500 million by the end of 2018, including possible money spent on Android devices. It looks like there’s a new mobile gaming giant in town. Nice try, PUBG Mobile. You had your run.
