In a post on the PlayStation Blog, PlayStation announced that they’ve sold three million PS VR units. Additionally, 21.9 million PS VR games and experiences have been sold.
To celebrate this milestone, they announced two new VR games. The first one is Creed: Rise to Glory, “a premier VR boxing experience from Survios that puts you in the gloves of Adonis Creed on his journey from an underground amateur to a spotlight champion”. Next up is Evasion, a sci-fi first-person shooter where you “play as one of four unique hero classes within an elite special operations team charged with saving an embattled human colony”. Creed: Rise to Glory comes out on September 25th and Evasion comes out on October 9th. Both pre-orders go up today at 8am PST.
PlayStation also shared the top ten most played games on the platform. Among them are The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, PlayStation VR Worlds, Rec Room, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, and The Playroom VR. It’s a diverse list of games where there’s something for everyone.
PlayStation is also offering discounts for VR titles on the PlayStation Store. They’re offering pre-order discounts of up to 20% off on select VR titles and up to 40% off (60% for PS Plus members) on select VR titles that are already out.
Of all the major VR headsets out, PlayStation VR is among the most approachable and least expensive. Games such as Beat Saber, Tetris Effect, and Blood and Truth are among the games coming out for PS VR this year. It’s been out since October 2016 and continues to be a great way to get into VR.
