PlayStation Unveils God of War Photo Mode Contest Winners

PlayStation recently held a contest for gamers to celebrate the God of War Photo Mode. Contestants were asked to submit the best photos that they had been able to take with the mode. Now, the winners of that contest have been unveiled, and they’re even more impressive than we expected.

The Winners of PlayStation’s God of War Photo Mode Contest

PlayStation recently announced the winners of the God of War Photo Mode contest in an update on their website. “We combed over 100’s of images all over the world and were immensely impressed by your creativity and originality of work we saw,” states the update; “whether it was a quiet, self-reflective moment with Kratos in Midgard to a fierce battle with Atreus in Muspelheim.”

The winners of the contest will each receive two prizes; one of the Cook & Becker high-quality art prints, signed by the team, and a Dark Horse “Art of God of War” book.

The Content and Style of the Winning Photos Varied Greatly

From the hundreds of entrants, PlayStation has selected nine contest winners; photos submitted by John. L, @ninjerello, @the_macebook, Ian L., @gatirosho, @thehuntervictor, @libraa_sandrai, @_rosapexa, and @linalyx_. The winning images varied greatly, from quiet shots of Kratos or Atreus to dramatic, mid-combat photos. Subsequently, the full range of winning images were posted online for fans to appreciate.

Of course, God of War has no shortage of high-quality concept art; the game’s impressive collection was published in the very same art book which the contest winners have now won; that published by Dark Horse. The art collection was also featured on ArtStation. Likewise, several pieces of artwork were selected by fine art specialists Cook & Becker to be turned into high-quality prints. The contest winners will also be awarded with one of those prints; signed by members of the God of War team, no less. God of War’s Photo Mode is a relatively recent addition to the game. Nonetheless, it seems appropriate that a game with such gorgeous artwork should help players to create their own impressive artwork as well.
