PlayStation Plus August 2018 Free Games: What to Expect Next Month
Are you a member of PlayStation Plus? Then you know that we’re soon going to find out which games will be made available to download and play for free during the month of August. We’ll be getting the announcement on Wednesday, July 25th, which is just a few short days away. While we’re waiting, we’d like to share our predictions.
PlayStation Plus August 2018 Free Games: When To Expect August’s Free Games Announcement
As just mentioned, Sony is going to drop the PlayStation Plus August 2018 free games announcement this Wednesday, July 25th. Specifically, you can check the PlayStation Blog between 4:30 and 5:00 pm BST/11.30-12.00 EST. That is around when the list is normally posted.

PlayStation Plus August 2018 Free Games: August Predictions
There is no way to be entirely sure which games will be available next month until they are officially announced, but we are guessing one of the bigger games in the line-up could be The Surge. There’s a big discount on this sci-fi action RPG already, so it would make sense to see it free next month for PS Plus.
Another possibility is the Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition remaster which came out last year for PS4. This beautiful remaster includes a new Overkill campaign mode plus six additional Echo maps, and would be an exciting selection for August.
One more big title which could end up making the list is Killzone: Shadow Fall. Back in April 2015, we saw Killzone: Mercenary offered for free through the service for PS Vita. Plus, Japanese subscribers have already gotten to play Shadow Fall for free last July. Maybe it will be our turn this August.
If there is to be a side-scroller, we are guessing it will be the ninja-style action game Nidhogg. Indie titles could include the rogue-like Shiren The Wanderer, Overcooked, or Volume. Overcooked 2 is coming out on August 7th, which makes that title seem particularly likely. Plus it has a couple of new expansion packs, The Lost Morsel and The Festive Seasoning.
