Usually, the free games announcement for the upcoming month is made on the final Wednesday of the current month. So, this month, we would expect Sony to announce the free games for May on April 29th.

While we wait for the May 2020 free games through PS Plus, you can enjoy the selection of April 2020 free games. These include Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Dirt Rally 2.0.
PlayStation Plus May 2020 Free Games: May Predictions
Our first prediction for the May PS Plus 2020 free games is Nier: Automata. A remaster of The Wonderful 101 is coming out on May 10th on PS4, Switch and PC, so we figured another game developed by PlatinumGames could be featured next month for free. 2017’s Nier Automata received widespread critical acclaim for its story, visuals, and soundtrack, and would be an excellent choice.
Moving in a different direction, maybe another option from PlatinumGames worth featuring for free next month would be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. This game came out in 2016, and wasn’t around long—digital sales were removed only eight months after it came out. So even though it received middling reviews, some gamers might appreciate a chance to play it.
An exciting game coming out on May 22nd on PS4, Xbox One and PC is Maneater. This is an open world RPG where you get to play a shark. Maybe to highlight the release of this game, we will get to play Hungry Shark® World for free, where you get to “Control more than 20 sharks in full HD and take on fearsome bosses as you venture into the depths to find trapped sharks, hidden treasures, and more.”
Continuing on the theme of underwater open world games, another cool game to feature for free in May through PS Plus would be Subnautica. The description reads, “You have crash landed on an alien ocean world, and now you must rely on your own wits and advanced computer systems to survive on a hostile planet. Discover vast ocean habitats, scavenge for resources, construct various tools, document undiscovered life forms, and find a way home. The unknown depths await you in Subnautica.”
