The 4th Generation of Pokemon is soon releasing in Pokemon GO. While the news is no official yet, everyone has good reason to believe that this is happening by the end of summer with more updates coming along the way. Now, the studio announces that they are working on bringing Pokemon GO PvP, which will release by the end of 2018.
The news about Pokemon GO PvP originate from an interview with the polish magazine Gram, Anne Beuttenmüller, Niantic’s Head of Product Marketing in the EMEA region and later reported by PokemonGOHub:
“Now we are working on the PvP mode, which will soon appear. In addition, we’re still working on improving the feature that has just made its debut – it’s all about friends, such as the ability to exchange Pokemon in the game.
We’ve just introduced an improvement so you can add a note to your friend. The point is that you can have many people on your friends list and do not remember who is who. So you can add a comment to that person. You can also segregate your friends list.
We are constantly improving the elements that we have available in the game and the next thing that we want to add at the end of this year is the PvP mode.“
We don’t know yet when to expect Pokemon GO PvP added to the game. The fair bet is to assume that it will become available sometime after the release of the 4th generation, giving players sometime to extend their battle Pokemon before “going out” for duels.
The rewards for the feature are also unknown for the time being. Possibly we might get a new currency with which we’ll be able to get cosmetics or consumables but that is just a guess. We shall know more when Niantic officially releases their plans on Pokemon GO PvP.
