Niantic is working on a new Pokémon GO feature that makes use of AR+ Technology. In fact, this development will appeal to photography fans. The new feature is called Pokémon GO Snapshot; it’s a mode that allows Pokémon GO players to take pictures of their favorite pocket monsters. The feature will be coming to the app at some point in the future.
Pokémon GO Snapshot Allows Players to Take RL Pokémon Pictures!
Niantic started their announcement of the feature by mentioning the incredible reception of their AR function. “We’ve been inspired by the photos you’ve taken with our AR+ feature. From the smallest Wurmple to the tallest Alolan Exeggutor, Trainers have taken amazing photos that show off Pokémon in their natural habitats.” Said Niantic in the blog post.
Pokémon GO Snapshot will be simple to use for anyone interested. Simply select a Pokémon and tap on the screen to throw its Poké Ball to that spot. Afterwards, players can adjust their angle and positioning. There will also be a function to make the Pokémon look at the player by just brushing the screen to get its attention.
All the photos taken during the session will be saved to the device automatically. Of course, the app feature will also include a social media sharing function. “We can’t wait to see the amazing photos you’ll take of your Pokémon! Don’t forget to send us your works of art with #GOsnapshot, so we can show them off, too!” Concluded the announcement by Niantic.
