Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee Reveals New Partner Exclusive Moves, Celadon City, and More

A new trailer has been released for Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee that reveals a ton of new info regarding the game. The details released include the unveiling of secret moves, new partner exclusive attacks, and the huge Celadon City. The trailer was released earlier today through the official Pokemon Twitter account. It is entirely possible that this trailer was meant to debut during the recently delayed Nintendo Direct.

You can check out the new Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee trailer for yourself below. Though it is only about a minute in length, it quickly goes through many of the different features that the game will come in, several of which we’ve never seen before. The first of these is the Pikachu and Eevee-exclusive Secret Techniques.

It seems that the Secret Techniques will possibly replace the HM’s that were heavily featured in the original Kanto games. These abilities allow your chosen partner to cut down trees with the move Chop Down or even surf across the water with Sea Skim. If other HM’s like Flash have a Secret Technique counterpart, this will alleviate the need for using up a precious move spot for HM’s.

That isn’t the only move that Pikachu and Eevee will be able to use in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee. If your partner is “showered with love”, you will have the opportunity to use the unique Pikachu move Pika Papow in battle or Eevee’s Veevee Volley. It remains to be seen if these moves will be in place of the Z Moves that were introduced in Sun & Moon.

Lastly, the new Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee trailer gave us our first look at Celadon City and the fourth Gym Leader Erika, who is known for using Grass-type Pokemon. Celadon City will be large in the game, allowing players to check out its arcade (seemingly replacing the slot machines), department store, and much more.
