Why Did Pokimane Sets Strict Donation Cap?
Pokimane made this tweet on the 1st of November:
The tweet says, “worked with @streamlabs to create a donation cap of $5 for my channel! Thank you for supporting me to the point where I consider anything more than that unnecessary. To anyone that was more generous- please support growing channels, charities, and treat yourselves”
Theoretically, if you wanted to tip more than $5, you could still do so simply by donating $5 repeatedly until you had contributed what you wanted to donate. But being as her motivation is to be generous to others, it seems entirely reasonable to do as she asks.
Earlier this year, Pokimane took a break in order to avoid burnout. All told, she seems to be a very level individual who leads a balanced life—nice to see in a young streamer. It is great to know that she is doing so well that she is able to request that donations go elsewhere. So, think about giving her $5 if you enjoy her streams, and maybe giving another $5 to another growing channel as she recommends. It is the holiday season, after all, and a great time to be generous.
