Sony has made us wait quiet a while to find out the PS5 release date, pricing and pre-ordering info. But now all three are here. In fact, pre-ordering for the PS5 is in progress. In fact, as of the time of this writing, it is more accurate to say that it is on pause as retailers restock. Let’s check out all the details.
Here is the PS5 Release Date, Pricing and Pre-Ordering Info
As with the Xbox Series X/S, there are two version of the PS5. One is a standard version that includes an optical drive, which costs $500 ($499.99 to be more exact). The other is an all-digital PS5 that you can buy for $400 ($399.99). The release date for both versions of the PS5 is November 12th. That means that PS5 gamers will be able to get their hands on their new consoles two days after Xbox gamers.
As for pre-orders, those happened on a number of websites earlier today:
As of the time of this writing, clicking through on all of those links reveals that the PS5 is already sold out on all of them. If you drop by Amazon and read the comments from users in the questions and answers section, you will see that the consoles sold out very fast. Even people who got up early or tried to use notifications or Alexa to help them order on time missed out. One person mentions Best Buy having some in stock a few hours ago, but when we checked, they were out of stock again.
Right now, it is not clear when each of these retailers will get more PS5 consoles in stock. We recommend watching these listings like a hawk and signing up for notifications. That will give you your best chance at getting in on another wave of pre-orders. Also keep an eye on our PlayStation news for further updates.
