Content creators in Japan who have apparently been working with the PS5 have been talking about what the new console and controller are like. Going by their reports, two major PS4 complaints should not be issues with the PS5. One of them involves the console itself, and the other involves the controller.
The PS5 Fixes These Two Major PS4 Complaints
Remember how quiet your PS4 was when you first bought it? Now think about how noisy it is. Sometimes, you might find yourself cranking up the volume on your games just to hear the dialogue over top of the noise the fan is making. Apparently, at least so far, the PS5 is running very quietly. Now, that does not guarantee it will stay that way as the unit ages. But given that Sony said they were making efficient cooling a priority, we have cause to be hopeful.
The other improvement concerns the controller. Do you find the bright lightbar on your DualShock 4 distracting? A lot of gamers have this complaint. Apparently, the lightbar on the DualSense is not nearly as bright. So, hopefully that will improve immersion when gaming on the PS5.
It is important that we not forget that all of these reports are informal. For that reason, we cannot jump to conclusions. But for those hoping to resolve these two major PS4 complaints, all of this is potentially great news.
The PS5 will release on November 12th. The cost for the digital-only version is $399.99, and the cost for the full version is $499.99. Pre-orders for both versions are sold out right now, and we expect they will stay that way. Indeed, retailers are already warning that some customers could receive their pre-orders late.
