How much longer will we have to wait for the official reveal of the PlayStation 5? Considering that the console should release this holiday season, it is hard to imagine Sony making us wait much longer. And maybe they won’t. Going by some recent comments from Sony Director, Senior EVP, CFO and Representative Corporate Executive Officer Hiroki Totoki, the PS5 reveal date could be coming up fast.
Could the PS5 Reveal Date Be in February or March?
Totoki was on an earnings call when he made a possible indication of when the PS5 reveal date might be—and it sounds like it could be very soon. While he did not give the exact reveal date, he said, “It’s very difficult to really discuss this timing-wise, but as of today, we will provide the guidance at a time period which is comparable to the past. So we will not change the time schedule.”
So, to what is Totoki referring? It seems likely he would be talking about the most recent console reveal date, which would be the PS4. The PS4 was revealed during the PlayStation Meeting in February 2013. Being as we are already in the middle of February, would that mean that the reveal could happen as soon as later this month? Or does it mean that we could expect a reveal to happen in March?
Frankly, it would seem silly to wait much longer. It is time to get people even more excited about the PS5, as people need to start saving to afford the new console by the holidays.
Meanwhile, there is still plenty of news coming out about the PlayStation 5. For example, did you know that there is reason to believe that the PS5 will include a more efficient (and maybe quieter) cooling unit than the PS4? Also, it is thought that the PS5 may be less expensive than the Xbox Series X. For even more updates on the PS5, keep up with our PlayStation news.
