If you are hoping to get your hands on a PS5 this holiday season, you are going to need to be ready to move fast during the pre-order period. Sony recently posted some information about what to expect regarding PS5 supply. From the sound of things, PS5 stock will be limited at launch. Let’s take a closer look at what the company had to say.
How We Know the PS5 Stock Will be Limited This Holiday Season
Sony is going to be offering direct pre-orders for the PlayStation 5. In their FAQ page for pre-ordering is some important information. The FAQ page states, “Due to limited quantities and high demand, we will be limiting PS5 console pre-order reservations to 1 per PSN ID.
On the main pre-order page, Sony also states, “There will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation. Pre-order reservations will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis, so once you get an invite via email, we encourage you to follow instructions and act fast.”
That means that if you miss your pre-order window (for which you may or may not be selected), supplies could run out. Should that happen, it is conceivable that you might miss out on your opportunity to buy the console this year. Once it launches this holiday season, it may sell out quickly. So, if you failed to pre-order, you could find yourself waiting on a restock.
We still do not know the exact date when it will become possible to pre-order the PS5 through Sony or other retailers. But we will let you know as soon as we hear further rumors or updates in our PlayStation news section. Don’t forget to sign up for an invite on the linked Sony page. Good luck being one of the first to pre-order a PlayStation 5!
