If you have been wondering how much usable space the PS5 will have, we might have an indication if some recent leaked screenshots are legit. Even though the PS5 has a 825GB SSD, some of that has to go to system and OS files. How much will remain? Apparently, it could be 664 GB of usable space. Yes, that is less than what is available on Xbox Series X, unfortunately. Let’s take a look at a couple of tweets to see for ourselves.
This Leak Shows 664 GB of Usable Space on the PS5
Both tweets are from Okami on Twitter, the creator and founder of @RespawnableNews. Here is the first tweet:
There is a screenshot, apparently from the PS5. The text reads, “The Playstation 5 will have 664 GB of usable space after system and OS files. Astro’s Playroom can be uninstalled for an additional 2.4 GB. #PS5.”
Here is the next tweet:
The text reads, “And here is our first look at the Playstation 5 home screen and UI. Keep in mind this could be a devkit UI and not final. PS3 vibes Fire #PS5 #homescreen #UI.”
Where did the screenshots come from? It is unclear, but it might be the same system that is featured in this video. The 664 GB of usable space does seem like a believable number (although a lower one than many of us would like), so this may very well be what we can expect. Still, it is not official. So, it is best not to jump to conclusions, and to wait to find out more formal information.
