PUBG is letting players who didn’t have much of an opportunity to try out the newest map, previously Codename: Savage, now named Sanhok, try things out a little longer before it makes its official debut on servers as an official release. Its final testing phase was scheduled to end today, but it turns out that isn’t the case any longer, as it has been extended three additional days, now wrapping up around 7 AM ET on Thursday, June 7.
Sanhok is currently only available to play via the PUBG Experimental Server, which you can download via Steam if you own the regular game as well. This round of testing will also come saddled with a few differences when compared to the original, as well, which mostly come by way of upgrades to visual fidelity. You can try out the lush jungle areas and get to know the area as intimately as possible before its big debut, which is always a great feeling, especially when you watch all the “newbie” players to the map trying to get their bearings when you already have them. It’s a little nefarious, really, and gives you a leg up on the competition.
The map is currently scheduled to launch near the end of the month, so consider this your last time to try it out before it’s released to the public. There’s a new vehicle and weapon in the works as we speak, and they’re planned to be added to the game sometime after Sanhok launches, and they’ll remain exclusive to this game mode.
Anyone who owns a copy of the game is eligible to participate, but only on PC. Console players will have to sit this one out again, unfortunately, but luckily Miramar recently made its way over to Xbox One owners. No word just yet on when Sanhok will appear on consoles, but we’ll make sure to keep you posted.
