The latest PUBG patch on PC is Update 12, and it’s live right now. It adds a smattering of bug fixes and various other alterations to Miramar, the new desert map, as well as a ton of other important things: a new vehicle and new weapons, of course. If you were hoping you’d get tons of new content to sift through on the PC version, then it’s time to rejoice. While the Xbox One players are just now able to test Miramar, PC players are getting the new map selection screen and other goodies.
The patch announcement was posted to Steam via PUBG Corp.’s official blog, and you can check it out in full here. Here’s what you need to know, though. In terms of gunplay, SMGs, shotguns, and pistols have had damage boosts and changes to their range, as well as character movement speed has been decreased. More interestingly, ARs have been rebalanced. This follows through with PUBG Corp.’s desire to keep any one gun from being “objectively” the best.
If that makes you upset, don’t be too discouraged — there’s a new weapon called the SLR, a DMR with 7.62mm ammo and 10 bullets per magazine that you’ll be able to find as a normal drop. You can speed around in style with the Mirado, a muscle car and four-seat sedan tucked around downtown areas. Topping it all off is the fact that the new map selection screen has gone live, which means you do finally have some say over which map you get sent to. Thank the lords of the Chicken Dinner, right?
