Ready to get back into a new PUBG map to run around and test out? PUBG Corp. has you covered, if you’re free later this week. PUBG’s newest map Sanhok, formerly Codename: Savage, is coming back for its fourth round of testing for PC players. It’ll be returning to the experimental PUBG PC server for what could potentially be its last go-around until releasing in full, so if you’ve yet to hang out in one of the testing periods, this could be your last chance for early access to the map.
The news was announced over the weekend in a new developer update blog, which followed up what was discussed in the developer update prior to that one. The team has been “hard at work” improving Sanhok in several different ways, and it appears that it’s time to bring it back to the public again, as such. Unlike the first waves of testing, the newest test will allow anyone with a copy of PUBG to play by simply downloading the updated PUBG: Experimental Server found within the regular Steam library.
Testing is scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 31 at 7 PM PT/10 PM ET, so if you’re hoping to have a go before Sanhok releases to the public, make sure you don’t miss out. It’ll be live after that all weekend before wrapping up on Monday, June 4 at 4 AM PT/7 AM ET. That’s plenty of time to get a feel for what it’s like and get accustomed to its quirks and other content before it finally, officially debuts.
As far as when that may be, it’s looking more likely every day that we’ll see the official debut of Sanhok in June. It feels oddly appropriate for a summer release anyway, does it not? We’ll keep you updated as additional details continue to roll out.
