Ubisoft will be fully unveiling Rainbow Six Siege’s next major operation during this weekend’s Pro League Finals. Ahead of the full reveal, though, the studio is teasing the operation’s new attacker operator. Hailing from Denmark, Nøkk is a stealth specialist who will make her opponents fear the shadows.
Rainbow Six Siege Nøkk Teaser
Ubisoft teased the upcoming addition of Nøkk via this post on Siege’s website. An accompanying video teaser shows that Nøkk has a very strong horror movie vibe. Indeed, fans of video games like F.E.A.R or movies like The Grudge might feel a certain kinship towards Nøkk.
According to Ubisoft’s blog post, Nøkk is a member of the Danish Jægerkorpset special operations unit. She also has a surprisingly cheery rapport with the rest of the Rainbow team despite her terrifying visage:
“Focused and driven, she uses her special operations training to infiltrate, gather intel and defeat her opponents. As a member of the Jægerkorpset, she strikes fear into the hearts of anyone who goes up against her.
Nøkk Backstory
On top of that, she harnesses a spirit of loyalty and leads by example to elevate the people she works with. Unlike the general population, her fellow Operators know who she is and welcome her into the fold. The potential scandal her family might face is of little importance to them; she’s one of the best in her field, and they wouldn’t betray her even if it came to that.”
The backstory for Nøkk’s unique gadget, the HEL stealth tech, also reveals a close friendship with fellow operator Dokkaebi:
“Her gadget is just the icing on the cake for an already dangerous operative. The HEL, which she worked on to improve with specialist Grace “Dokkaebi” Nam, makes Nøkk nothing short of a ghost, and leaves her opponents looking over their shoulders.”
Along with Nøkk, Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Phantom Sight update includes a new defender operator from the U.S. Secret Service. We’ll likely find out more about that second operator ahead of Operation Phantom Sight’s May 19 reveal. Both Nøkk and her Secret Service counterpart were teased in a CGI trailer from earlier this year.
