The disappointment that followed Rocksteady’s absence from E3 2018 was significant. The rumors regarding a possible Rocksteady Superman video game had excited fans who have been waiting years for a release like this. That is why fans’ feedback is the most important factor the company needs to take into consideration. Calling out to Rocksteady, here are five reasons why they should invest in making a Superman video game.
1) Rocksteady video games success
While there have been other Superman games in the past, a Rocksteady one would be a gift to Superman’s fanbase. The broad success of Rocksteady’s previous games was huge simply because they were as perfect as fans wanted them to be. When imagining how a Superman game would be if Rocksteady’s team handled it, there is no doubt the company will not be disappointed by its performance– because success is a given.
2) Superman’s popularity
Yes, Batman is one of the best and most popular superheroes with a huge fan base. However, Superman also commands a huge fanbase, which goes back to the first DC comics. Even Batman’s fans would adore becoming Superman and trying out his abilities in a video game. Hell, even my grandmother would play that thing. Seriously.
3) Endless storyline
I can understand the difficulty behind bringing a superhero’s world into that of games. However, if Rocksteady decides to work on a Superman video game, this will be the only difficult task they will have to take on. Superman’s story already exists because of the original comics. Even if they cannot think of any other story for the game, the comics already have plenty of them. And these are the stories we would like to play in a future video game based on Superman.
4) Supervillains
From Metallo to Zod to Doomsday, every Superman villain is unique. How awesome would it be, if they could bring us the best enemies in the history of Superman in a game where we could fight them? And I am not even mentioning the most popular ones: Bizzaro, Darkseid, Brainiac or Lex Luthor. The list varies, and the choices they have are numerous. We will be happy to battle even only one of them.
5) Because it’s Superman!
An alien who can fly, has telescopic and microscopic vision, and is super strong are three of the best things that define this beloved hero. He is the incarnation of justice, the most influential member of the Justice League, and the hero we need on our screens immediately. We have been asking for such a game for so long. You will not regret giving it to us.
